September Giveaway!

I mentioned last week that I would be having a giveaway in September and I'm now all set to go. I guess there was some benefit to having the flu after all. Having a bunch of days off work & being housebound gave me some time to paint something for my 'spring themed' blog giveaway. Yes, it's now spring! Winter is officially over! Yay! With winter over I'm wondering what I'll now constantly moan about. Fear not folks, I'm sure I'll think of something! The painting I'm giving away is an original acrylic on a 10 x 10 inch (25.5 x 25.5 cm) chunky canvas stretcher. It's been given a protective matte finish. It's called Make a Little Birdhouse in your Soul. Yes, I've been listening to They Might Be Giants a lot lately. I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed this band!

I got a little carried away with the adding of the birds. I hadn’t intended to include that many but I was having fun and just kept going. And going. I was aiming for a cheery and chirpy spring kind of vibe and hope I’ve achieved that. If you’d like to win this painting to hang on your wall, or in your tree, or around your neck if you’re into weird big birdy bling, then simply leave a comment saying so. You have until Tuesday 16th September to enter and then I’ll randomly select a name the following day and announce the winner here on Wednesday 17th September. Please ensure that you leave a way for me to be able to contact you should you win. Anybody can enter this giveaway as I’m more than happy to post the painting overseas. Good luck!

"Every year, back comes spring, with nasty little birds yapping their fool heads off and the ground all mucked up with plants"
- Dorothy Parker

Ok then, it seems not everybody shares my enthusiasm for spring. Grouchy ol' Dot!

I love this painting T! I don't think you got carried away at all by the birds, see... they're still on the canvas! heh heh

I paid a little visit to YouTube to check out a "They Might Be Giants" video and I really like this band! I gotta tell ya though, they sure remind me of the 80's! ;D

Happy Day! xxoo

grouchy ol' Dot indeed! I say 'yay' for Spring (and 'boo' for the flu!)
That is one sweet birdy painting (and I love the little birds that go up and up and up!) Tracy - you are so generous!
I would really love to see it modeled around someone's neck - hee hee! (funny birdy-bling!)

I just left a comment, but don't know what happened .... and I commented on all the SSS posts logged in as 'BrisStyle' .. oh dear, I need a sleep :/
Your painting is lovely - I love the little birdies going up and up and up!
And I say yay to spring - not like grumpy ol' Dot!

Glad you're feeling better! Awesome painting - LOVE TMBGs. I've even taught my son the 'Why does the sun shine' song - love those lyrics, and hey, they're educational too! 'Birdhouse in your soul' reminds me of my uni days, which is funny because your little people also remind me of all the angsty Melbourne arts students I used to hang out with at that time :P
Oh, and Dorothy Parker can kiss my jacksy. I LOVE Spring!!!!
Oh it's so cute!!! "big birdy bling"...you're so funny! lol. I would love a little birdhouse in my soul...and I'm gonna need it 'cause winter is looming on my horizon. Thanks for giving me a chance to add to my Tracy M. gallery:D
HAPPY SPRING!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a happy, happy painting..You are so lucky to start spring..and I like the yapping birds..So much for Dorothy Parker..she must of got up on the wrong side of the bed when she wrote that line..Happy Spring and you enjoy those birds..

I would love to win a They Might Be Giants themed painting! They are my 10 year old's favorite band. I'll have Birdhouse in Your Soul in my head all day... but I think that's a good thing. Lucky you with your approaching spring!
Looooooove it!! You are so talented, I wish my paintings were as good! And I haven't listened to They Might Be Giants in ages - such fun quirky music, I might have to find some to listen to now :)
I'm so excited it's spring - and I can't wait to do my TiLT list tomorrow!
Happy cheery, chirpy, birdy-bling spring! Sign me up for the giveaway!!!

Gorgeous birdhouse painting! I love what you called it too! To me, it shows how we perceive birds - happy little minds, chatting to each other across perches or branches and singing delightful tunes all day. Oh what a life, and they also get to poop on people! You couldn't ask for more. Wonderful painting to start off spring and hopefully the warm sun will help those sniffle bugs stay away for a while. :-)

hello! I love your painting..I really love bright colours and simple graphic shapes and this is a great example of that style. I think it would look amazing in our yellow bedroom! :)

Aren't birds adorable and elegant at the same time? On last count, I have 14 bird items in my home (wooden, plastic, metal, paper)and yes I have a real birdhouse made from raw wood hand carried all the way from Japan home to tropical Singapore)! I'll love to increase my collection to 22 and send you pictures of my bird collection if I should be lucky to win it! =)

Ah, yes, I am very familiar with the every-expanding list of things to buy. Mine is exponentially long and grows longer every minute. But isn't that the beauty of it?

Unlike Miss Dorothy, I share you love of spring. It is the best season - the one that shows a person that life goes on after a hard winter :)

Well Miss Tracy, I love your work, and I especially love Birdies (and you know why) but if I don't get extremely lucky and win your give away, I will continue to admire your work and you and continue to beg you to MOVE THE PICTURE OF SOPHIE UP!!!! so we can 'visit' her when we look at your new work ;-)

Sam

That's great that you'd like to enter my giveaway but you'll need to leave a way for me to contact you should you win. Doesn't have to be a blog link as an email address is fine :)

In regard to your question about blogging, I suggest starting one with Blogspot/Blogger as it's quite easy to use & it's free. I'm afraid I'm not very techie but you can certainly email me if you need some help at any stage. I'll help if I can. My email link is in the sidebar of my blog. Good luck & happy blogging & thanks heaps for visiting mine :)
