Shadow Shot Sunday #20

"Look round and round upon this bare bleak plain, and see even here, upon a winter’s day, how beautiful the shadows are! Alas! It is the nature of their kind to be so. The loveliest things in life, Tom, are but shadows; and they come and go, and change and fade away, as rapidy as these!"
– Charles Dickens

Here's my Shadow Shot Sunday #20

This photo was taken while descending the steps of the old Victoria Bridge Abutment located in Southbank. It’s a nice spot to take in the views of the city. I wanted to post some cute pelican pics for SSS that I took the other day but they weren’t very shadowy. I’ll post them on Wednesday so pop in then if you’d like to see some pelicans acting a little goofy. They were such funny creatures to watch. I do love pelicans. Happy Sunday!

I like pelicans, so I'm looking forward to seeing your shots, however the stair photo is terrific, with all it's interesting lines and angles both for the structure and the shadow.

Great collection last week of everyone's work. Thanks for calling pronouncing Amelia as the It Girl. She is in my world!

Hey T! Fantastic shadow shot, very nice black and white! I feel like I'm standing at the top of the stairs!

Love how the collages look every week, what a great eye you've got for putting those together! :D

Can't wait to see the pelican pics on Wednesday! :)

Happy Sunday to you! xo

I agree with Sandra - hope I don't fall down the steps.
Super collages - they are maybe the best bit.

Love your collages of last week's Shadow Shots! Beautifully presented!

Your Charles Dickens quote is just brilliant!

And finally, that stair pic! Beautifully created! Quite intriguing how the focus is on the falling shadow and the rest is "mystified"!
I see I missed some great shadows last week!! Wonderful collages! Thanks so much for pulling one of mine from the archives...so nice to be included while I was playing hookey;D

Your stairs are great! I really like the feel of the photo!

Lovely, lovely once again! My fav from last week is the eyelashes, holy heck!!! I need to remember to take my camera with me more, every time I see a cool shadow I don't have my camera!

That Charles Dickens verse is perfect Tracy. I need to write it down somewhere, maybe do a scrapbook shadow page with that as the journalling. Love your shot, i have a bit of a thing for rails and stairs, just love the angles and the way it draws your eyes in and walks you down to the bottom - well done!! Look forward to the pelican shots too, maybe not as scary as my big fish post, lol - hope i didn't give you nightmares ;0)
As Sandra Ree said you have a talent with those collages, they look fantastic - thanks for taking the time to put them together.
Have a fabulous Sunday. Annette x

Your stair shadows are beautiful..and make me want to take the journey from them..in fact I think we walked down those very steps while in Brisbane, we walked over and back 2 different routes..so quote possible..
Have a great Sunday T! Gxox
A little bit of vertigo looking down your shadowy stairs.

Shadows are looking fab again this week! I completely forgot to do one so will have to wait until next sunday :( I've been busy rushing around to weddings and preparing for the first day of school term. That stair shot of yours is making me dizzy, hope I don't fall :O

Hope you have a lovely week :) Amanda

I love these shadow shots - some talented photographers you have. Thanks for putting this together. The stairs shot looks very atmospheric - kind of spooky, like it should be from a Hitchcock movie.

Your photos are wonderful!

I'm new at this and trying to find out - your time zone difference, so I know when to submit. - and what to do about the fact that you have 2 "bobbie"s (I'm one of them) and one "bobbi". I think I'll become "Bobbie P."
