Happy Harmony Day!

Harmony Day is on the 21st of March each year. It is a day for celebrating and promoting the benefits of cultural diversity. The key message of Harmony Day is Everyone Belongs. It’s about community participation, inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everybody. Since Harmony Day began ten years ago, thousands of schools, community groups, organisations and various businesses, large and small, across Australia have actively supported this day of celebration by hosting Harmony Day events.

A very happy Harmony Day everybody! But hey, let’s not restrict the celebrations to only one single day per year. Let us all celebrate community harmony EVERYDAY! Yes, Everyone Belongs Everyday.

What a wonderful post! I long for the day when diversity is celebrated and prized worldwide and we all live in harmony with each other and our natural environment.

... Makes me want to pick up a bottle of Coca-Cola and sing the old 1970's theme song... and I don't even drink Coca-Cola.

(Here's the link to the commercial I am referring too, in case you never saw it over in Australia)

March 21st is when Spring officially arrives here... I can hardly wait. I will be thinking of you all living a harmonious day, peaceful day. xo

Ok, I'm planning my Harmony Day celebrations but there are certain groups, you know those people, that I'm not inviting!

So we can combine Harmony Day with SSS, if we're lucky enough to be able to combine the two?

Many years ago, in Shangahi, the Australian Consulate would open it's diplomatic grounds to foreigners (with working visas) to promote friendship (& the occasional Fosters Beer & Roo Burgers!). Only the ever friendly Australians would do such things. But that was years before 9/11, when the world was more trusting. I have that Australian Consulate to thank - for without the Aussies, my husband & I would not have met in harmony !

This is a great post T. It is a shame that we dont celebrate here as we have so many diverse races and cultures, and while the people live harmoniously and well among ourselves..our politics on this issue..well, let's say it has gone to the dogs as far as inter racial and faith is concerned. I agree with you, everyday should be Harmony Day, it saddens me to see so much war around. And hey, your SSS is 59 again..I think this is the 2nd time, the next time it reaches 59 again, I'll throw in my last minute SSS - I want to see the figure reach 60 :D and yes, those are koi fishes..we have the cheaper versions as some are very costly. Still too busy here..and whenever you see a post, that means the wolves were howling..full moon = time to post haha!! Have a great week T..but then, it's Wednesday..it will be Friday and weekend soon :D

I like the colorful poster for this day. I will have to talk to my Australian co-workers to learn more about this holiday.

The bird print you featured is sweet.
It's so beautiful it doesn't seem real.
Definitely an image that elicits a sigh of happiness!

Happy Harmony Day to you and everyone!
Love that Cezanne quote..my favourite french impressionist! :D
What a wonderful idea..Wouldn't it be a beautiful world, if we would learn to respect each other?
I was just in Australia a month ago for a trip I've waited for all my life. I loved it, was only there for about a week total, and can't wait to go back. Too bad I missed Harmony Day. Sounds great.
Liking the idea of Harmony Day--very nice. Pretty photo from the POE team as well...
