Here's my Shadow Shot Sunday #71


This unusually shaped shadow cast from the different angles of the plant leaves caught my eye. It looks like an elephant. With one eye. And an upside down ear. And a short pointy trunk. But definitely an elephant!

A little Sunday silliness...
Question: Why do elephants wear shoes with yellow soles?Answer: So you don't see them when they float upside down in a bowl of custard.
I googled 'elephant jokes' and believe it or not that was the best of the bunch!

Here's my Shadow Shot Sunday #70


"Ok, I'll play along and give a little smile for the camera."

"What the!?! Why is this weirdo taking photos of my butt?"

This turtle was very kind and patient to allow me to invade his personal space with my camera. I was very grateful for the smile in the first photo! By the last photo (the actual shadow shot btw) he was no longer smiling and it was taken moments before he plopped back into the pond. His patience finally ran out...

Here's my Shadow Shot(s) Sunday #69





These photos were taken during a visit to Raven Street Reserve, a nice urban bushland area in Chermside. The first pic I took while trekking along one of the bush walking trails. The following shadows were found at the children's playground. It was my lucky day because there were no kiddies around so I had the play area all to myself! I managed to climb all the way to the top of that spiral thingie too. (It was all of 1.5 metres high...)

I had the fortunate pleasure of being interviewed for a photography feature called Art Through the Lens on IndiePublic, as part of their monthy She Dreams of Art series. Also I finally jumped onto the Twitter bandwagon the other day. I've been reluctant to join Twitter because I really didn't want to devote more time to online activities, but it's actually quite nifty. I've discovered it's a great way to share little snippets of info when I don't have time to blog. A tweet only takes a few seconds. I do like that! Anyway, my tweets can be found here if anybody is remotely interested in following them.

Here's my Shadow Shot(s) Sunday #68



The above two photos were taken at the Lyell Deer Farm a couple of weeks ago. Forgot I had these! And here are some more animal shadow shots taken at Alma Park Zoo during a visit earlier in the week...




I can't remember what type of lizard this one is. I generally like lizards but this guy looked a bit mean!

Today it is Father's Day here in Australia. I believe it's also Father's Day today in New Zealand, Fiji and in Papau New Guinea. So a great big happy Father's Day to all the dads celebrating their special day today!

I chose this song because my dad likes it. My dad doesn't visit my blog but it's the thought that counts!
