Here's my Shadow Shot Sunday #128

The following photos show the source of shadow...

This whacky sculpture is located between the Qld Art Gallery and The Edge.

Notice how lovely and green the grass is? Everything in Brissy right now is looking super lush thanks to all of the rain we've been experiencing lately. My backyard has 3 metre high dandelions growing everywhere. It's wild! And an assortment of other unidentifiable weeds. My dad of the weed-free immaculate lawn brigade would be mortified if he saw the current state of my yard. I hope dad has no surprise visits planned for this week! Weeding is on the to-do list for next week.

I finally took the plunge and joined Facebook. I created a page and it's HERE if you would like to see. And if you like what you see please do feel free to 'like' it.

[I just couldn't figure out for the life of me a less juvenile sounding way of wording that]

Happy Sunday!

I see a sphere and cube - a great combination! The amazing things a sculpture artist can make with iron...As for your yard, I think we may confuse weeds with wildflowers, so perhaps you have a garden full of the latter. Not counting the dandelions, of course...

Woody said...

The cube shadow is really cool!

I'd like to have a page on FB but I don't want to give any personal info - possible?

It's amazing how a culpture like that gives that kind of shadow.
Happy Sunday!

ps. I called your dad, he's not going to surprise visit you! :)

sarayutouched said...

i love the shadows that you find. love the thoughts of your dandelions in your yard. if your dad does show up...hopefully he will appreciate your love of them. happy sss.

What a great shadow! The sculpture is quite interesting as well!
Hope you have been enjoying your weekend!

Generik said...

I love that shadow -- and almost wished you hadn't shown what made it, just to leave the mystery intact.

Good luck with your weed problem and keeping your dad away for a while! (Hope he doesn't read this blog...)

I love the first shot of your shadow. Have a Blessed Sunday!

Fantastic showcase shots!

I love your angular shadows too!

Fabulous shadows.
Before you pull them out, how about some photos of those 3-metre-high dandelions for posterity?

It is different and a great -- if wacky, sculpture! You captures are fantastic and very artsy! I love them! Hope you get the yard weeded before your Dad visits, but I bet he'd be delighted to help you! Enjoy your weekend, Tracy, and I will check out Facebook!

how fun to see you on facebook!

cool hanging box shadow.

green, green, green is definitely happening in your neck of the woods. Glad to see Australia getting some much needed rain. Hopefully my State will follow your country's example to diminishing our drought as well.

Enjoy the wildness of your garden:)

Happy Shadow Shot Sunday to you.

Super shadow and super sculpture! If your Dad shows up, wrap your arm up in a sling, look pitiful and perhaps he'll sort out the garden for you!!

Cassie said...

Oh I love it! The Weed-free Immaculate Lawn Brigade!! Wish my daddy was still alive so I could tell him he was a member of that group!!! Oh, cool ShadowShots too.hehe.

PS-I'm heading over to FB now too!

Capturing the wacky shadows, Fabulously awesome, Tracy.

Wonderfully whimsical shadow. Thanks for showing the source!

As for the dandelions, we have a sea of them in the spring but it would take truckload of weedkiller to do them in. We've been able to control them by mowing every couple of days when they first appear, before they can go to seed. In about three weeks, they're mostly gone.

Diane AZ said...

That is a weird sculpture! At first I thought it was for basket ball. It sure makes nice shadows. Rain and weeds sound good right now. :)

MARGARET GOSDEN 2 said...

It certainly is a whaky looking sculpture - the shadow of it is much more elegant!

Alissa Nicolau said...

Hello Tracy!

Long time no see - again! Your shot is so cool in the green and shadowed tones. And I love the square format. Very neato.

Good luck with the dandelion weeds. I'll be thinking of you as I tuck my garden to bed for the winter.

Unusual shadow from a most unusual sculpture! It reminds me of a pyramidal netball hoop! Someone's a sporty philosopher?

A lovely collection of collages again! Thank you so much for all your work for this meme! It is always a joy to be here!

Now about your wild garden! My garden is in that category too after all the rain! Yesterday I mustered the courage to find the pathway again beside my home and courageously cut back the plants in spite of bees! And that's just a small dent into what needs to be done!

Have a great weekend!

That sculpture throws an interesting shadow. Thanks for showing the object that cast the shadow.

What an interesting sculpture. Thanks for including my shadow shot from last week in your Shadow Gallery.

What a thrill it was to stop by this afternoon and discover my shot of Fiori Di Como had been included in today's Shadow Gallery. Thanks so much for the honor - you really made my day!

Love your cool pictorial of the "wacky sculpture" and the unusual shadows it cast. The shadow reminded me of a Rubik's cube!

Have a great week all!

That wacky sculpture does make a good subject for shadow photography. I agree with the comment that it would be nice to see the shadow alone. Adds to the mystery.

These are awesome! Thanks so much for including me in your weekly roundup. I've got another one of Honest Abe today!

Do passers by ever ask why you're taking a photo of 'the ground'...I often wonder what my neighbors think,as I'm out in my jammies crawling around on my porch taking shots as the sun rises...at my age, I guess they don't ask questions anymore...ha!

Have a great week girlfriend!!!

Very cool shots Tracy! Brisbane sure does have some interesting public art! I also like the filter (?) you put over your photos - it looks kind of like they are under water - it's very pretty!

The collages are slowly turning red too - the titmouses are awesome in the bottom collection!

Hope you're having a lovely weekend sweetie! XO's

What awesome shadows you have for us this week, Harriet, both your own and those you've featured!

Dandelions that are three meters high? Are you sure they're not trees? Perhaps they'll be the subject of next week's SSS!

Sorry I'm soooo late...I was headed here on Sunday...actually looked and read, but got sidetracked before commenting. How rude of me:0

I love the SS. I enjoyed pondering what was causing it...very unique and unnatural. Interesting work of art...I think I like it better as a shadow:)

Christine said...

Hi there, Tracy! That is a very cool, very geometric shadow shot. Like Lisa, I'm enjoying the shadow more than the actual sculpture. :)
I've missed visiting you and posting SS photos but will have one ready for this coming Sunday.
Have a wonderful week.

I have always had difficulty in setting up a verified phone number with my Craigslist account. I have finally found a service that solves this problem.
