Here's my Shadow Shot Sunday #123
I've had no luck catching shadows this week due to the sun being very scarce, so thankfully I had this one saved from the week before. The bridge casting that shadow across the Brisbane River is the Merivale rail bridge. I had taken the photo while crossing the Go Between pedestrian bridge. Just beyond the Merivale are two more bridges called the William Jolly and Kurilpa, and small parts of those bridges can just be seen in the photo. And a little way around the corner more bridges can be found. The Victoria, Goodwill, Captain Cook and Story bridges all stretch across the river. Quite a lot of bridges within a short distance. Brisbane has gone crazy for bridges! There was a period recently where celebratory bridge opening events were happening almost every weekend. Main activities of such events include a walk across the new bridge followed by a sausage sizzle. For my overseas friends who may not be familiar with the sausage sizzle, it's basically a sausage cooked on a BBQ and served on a slice of bread. With sauce. If you're lucky you'll have a choice of sauces. Generally limited to tomato or bbq. If it's a fancy sausage sizzle, onions may also be part of the deal. For a higher price. Yup, here in Brisbane we know how to celebrate in style!

These gigantic lego men (made of milk crates I believe) crawling all over the QPAC building are the most adorable sight! They're here as part of the Brisbane Festival which runs until 25th September. I would be very happy if the lego men decided to take up permanent residency at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre!

Here's my Shadow Shot(s) Sunday #120
My shadow shots this week were taken with my new iphone + Hipstamatic app. I've been having so much fun discovering the joys of iphoneography this week! As it's all still new to me, if anybody can recommend other interesting photo related apps for the iphone that would be awesome! I'm addicted already!
The plan for this week was to snap some seriously stylish shadows from the Valentino Retrospective that I attended on Friday but sadly that wasn't to be. GoMA had a 'no photography' rule for this exhibition and were very strict about enforcing it. Damn it! So the photos above were taken on the walk back to the bus stop after visiting GoMA. That funny little lady was one of many funny little ladies scattered around Southbank promoting the various events happening at the Brisbane Writers Festival. Just in case you were wondering. And if you were wondering what the Valentino Retrospective was like, it was truly amazing!

coochie, coochie coo
Discovering this little store makes great coffee also made me very happy! It's likely they make great other things as well, but I only tried the coffee.
Lovely moss covered areas of red rocks. These are the areas that are submerged during high tide. And they're very slippery to walk along during low tide!

And a set of TtV Coochie Seascapes freshly listed in my Etsy shop. They can be found individually in this section of the shop. Or the set can be located here.
