Heres' my Shadow Shot Sunday #137

This was taken at Dalpura Beach, which is a short stroll from my house. I had to dig into the archives for my shadow shot this week due to the weather not playing very nicely. Bad bad weather. While I've had my share of problems due to all the rain of late, none of them come close to what many other Queenslanders are sadly going through right now. So I count myself lucky. So far anyway. Ok, let's move onto more positive things. It's now 2011! Happy New Year everybody! I'm looking forward to a whole new year of shadowy goodness from you guys! You're all awesome! I hope 2011 is a healthy, happy and safe year for you all. Thanks for being so inspiring and bringing so much fun to this little meme! xo

Happy Sunday!

It is so bad, the feast-or-famine way of drought and too much rain. No perfect medium in the weather it seems...

Happy New Year to you and yours on your beautiful island!

Happy New Year! We had a great 3 days break this weekend...busy, extremely tiring, painting the hall but so happy. A friend came back from Melbourne and said that it was cold in summer, which is odd or is that common? Hope the weather improves soon and your shadow is awesome! Happy New Year T...may 2011 brings you lots of blessing. Hugs.M

Hi Tracy - Happy New Year ..... may it be filled with all the things you wish for!! I love your shadow shot .... and like you my thoughts are with the poor people who have suffered the devastation of the floods. Love Anne

How fortunate to have this site be just a short stroll from your house! And, fortunate too, that you are not having to suffer what your other Queenlanders are going through.
A toast to you-for hosting such a wonderful meme that has brought weekly excitement to so many of us. And, a toast to the other SSSer's for being incredible shadow sleuths!

Amazing shadow shot Tracy. I love the clouds and the color of the sand with the boat. It's such a huge expanse. You live in a beautiful area, and I'm so sorry about all the flooding taking place. It seems the weather is wreaking havoc all over the world these days. I hope the skies clear very soon. Happy New Year Tracy, and thanks for hosting Shadow Shot Sunday!

EG Wow said...

I very much like this wonderful shot! I like the colour of the sand in contrast to the lovely blue sky and fluffy white clouds...and of course the shadow!

Thanks so much for including me in your gallery! A true honor :)

I'm so sad to hear about all the tragic news on your side of the world. The weather has indeed been crazy everywhere! I hope that everything is under control soon. May this be a wonderful year for all, full of peace and happiness!

Love the shadowy boat shot...I'm glad to know it's so close to your house...just in case you find yourself in emergent need of a boat!! I hope the New Year brings sunnier skies and some much needed relief from all the rain.
Seems it's been crazy weather in lots of places recently.

So glad you're safe from the flooding, Tracy! I love the shadow shot of the boat, the beach and the gorgeous skies and hope it looks like that again very soon. Wishing you a wonderful 2011 with lots of love and laughter and, of course, lots of shadow shot opportunities! And thank you not only for the weekly fun, but for your visits/comments to my blog! Always appreciated!! Enjoy!

Dreadful to hear about the flooding in Queensland. Such a beautiful place. I visited there in 1982.
I'm glad you had this boat and its shadow in your archives. It's a great shadow shot!!
Thanks for using one of my photos in your mural. Makes me feel ever so smug. LOL
Happy 2011.

Yes, I just read about the flooding, too. Thought of you right away, and very relieved to hear you are safe!

Now, I will picture myself on that beautiful beach... I'll collect seashells to fill the boat, and make a wish on each one for a happy and blessed New Year... for you, for me, for everyone, and for our dear planet, too. xo

Tracy Girl Happy New Year and lets hope it turns out much better than we could ever hope .. getting rid of all the bad weather so people can be safe and happy in their homes !
It is VERY unusual here .. GREEN ! not a speck of snow and it is RAINING .. this is not a good thing but as you have said at least we just have a bit of bad weather and not like other people have to suffer through. I am truly grateful!
Your shot of the beach is BEAUTIFUL !! .. it should be copied as an oil painting it is so pretty : ) The contrast from blue blue sky to the shadow of the boat is amazing : )
Thank you for including me in the collage : ) I am always tickled pink seeing me there girl !
Take care
Joy : )

Oh dear, yes my heart goes out to those poor people in the floods...I heard the flooded area was as big as Germany and France put together.

I'm glad to hear you're OK so far though. It's very grim weather here in Sydney today too - thank goodness for archives!

Love your boat here - again, so exotic! You could be anywhere really: the South of France, Greece. Do many people live on your island? It always looks pretty secluded when you post your piccies.

...and Happy New Yera to you! May 2011 bring you everything your heart desires - thank you again for Shadow Shot - it's so cool!! XOXO

Would you believe, after a cold beginning to summer, Melbourne had a 40 degree day on New Year's Eve, and now we are back to barely 20 degrees. But we have sun!!! Weird stuff this weather!

Love your shadowy boat Tracey! There is something very calming in the way it is resting on the sands and it casts a beautiful crisp shadow!

Just like us here in Iowa, 58 degrees yesterday, below zero today...anyway, THANK YOU Tracy for inviting us to play in your yard, you're a great pal to play with, as are our fellow shooters!

Hopefully the new year will bring us many changes for the betterment of world...have a wonderful day...you lucky summer enjoying duck!!!

Happy New Year to you & yours Miss Tracy! Love the sharp ShadowShot of this lone dinghy.

Just googled your weather and saw there are a lot of floods. I hope you continue to be safe from them and that they subside in other parts of your country. Snow & blizzards is the news here. We're heading to Phoenix now. Hopefully we'll have clear roads.

Hi Tracy,

What a satisfying photo, on so many levels. Lots to look at, fabulous composition, thrilling sky, and a black, black shadow as the focus of the shot. Wonderful.

Have a super year, dear meme host, bringer of creative vision to so many.

Best always, Sara

Oh Tracey, what a beautiful image if only it was like that now! I hope you are okay. Thanks for being such a great host! Happy New Year.

Boats with shadows or reflections are always a winner.

Horrible floods in Q'land and NSW, we lost all in a bushfire but, although traumatic and filthy, nowhere near as bad as carpets and all else soaked in a septic sludge.

I still hope you enjoy a Happy New Year!

The flooding is dreadful, I am so pleased that you aren't affected by the rains apart from not having fine days! but it is shocking for all those who are, and there so many very badly affected.I do hope things improve quickly.
I send my best wishes for now and for the new year, may it be a good year for you and your family.
