Shadow Shot Sunday #142

Gabba Gabba Hey! Shadow Shot Sunday!

Hi and welcome to SSS. If you’d like to join in, please do. How? Shoot a shadow, post it on your blog on Sunday (or close to Sunday), add your link to Mr Linky, and visit other players. First-time participants are required to click HERE for further info before submitting links. Thanks and I hope you enjoy the shadows!

I apologise for there being no Shadow Gallery this week. Due to being away last week I wasn't able to visit & save any of your wonderful shadow shots to create collages. The collages will return next week. It's just not SSS without them!

Heres' my Shadow Shot Sunday #142

This was taken in Chinatown during the week. I thought it perfect to post today because it's Chinese New Year this weekend. If wondering why the Chinatown mall is so empty, it's because it was one stinking hot day and most people were in the air conditioned buildings in order to escape the heat. All except silly me!

Also I must apologise in advance if I'm unable to visit as many of you as I'd like this week. Again. I'm just so behind in so many things and need to get on top of stuff. There's not enough hours in the day lately. And I'm sure this is something everybody can relate to. Those busy periods where fun activities such as blogging and blog visiting need to take a back seat sometimes in order to catch up with other things. Oh how I wish I had much better time management skills!

PS - There's an interview with me over on this blog if interested in reading :)

Happy Sunday!
&
Gung Hay Fat Choy!

With all the heat you're having Down Under (and I do envy you!), that looks like a nice shady spot in which to cool off!

SILLY SHADOW DITTY

Shadows may or may not be
Patterns of urbanity.
If a shadow threatens you,
Here, my dear, is what to do:
Grab the shadow by the throat,
Toss it to a billy goat,
So the goat can chomp and chew,
Keeping it away from you!

please pass the heat. we got dumped on thru the wee hours of wednesday this week. time for most, including me, stood still. first "snow day" for me in a long time.

don't be too hard on yourself on the time management thing...it'll only give you gray hairs...have a great week tracy!!

Wonderful colours and shadows in your Chinatown picture! It's been a long time since I've joined in Shadow Shot Sunday but we finally had a little sunshine (and some shadows) last week so I'm back and hoping to take part regularly again. Best wishes to you. :)

THAT is very funny Tracy :) You had us crackin' up at that one!!
Love your sunny shot - it looks like that cherry colored pergola is ready to catch some fluffy clouds that might fall out of that gorgeous blue sky....it makes our hearts jump - blue sky...sunshine...and no snow!!
Have a super week!

How about "Hey Jones" or "Hey Tom" after Tom Jones! :)
I've noticed it's hot over there...we'll be in Australia in couple of weeks but not in Brisbane - maybe next time.

Your interview was very long and interesting. I like your parents a lot! :)

What a terrific capture, Tracy, as always! You can bet that we weren't staying inside to avoid the heat, but I do understand since we're doing the same thing to avoid the cold!!! No problem, take your time and I'm sure all of us understand perfectly! Have a great week -- I know I don't have to tell you to "stay warm"!!!

Beautiful rich colors! So different from the icy whites and grays surrounding me currently. I wish I could give you a bit of our chill, for a bit of your heat, and then we'd both have some nice lovely warmth! Off to read your interview now... xo

Year of the Rabbit. So hot there, and so cold here. Go figure??!!
Thanks for all you do.

Me again... That was a great interview Tracy. Sounds like you grew up in a wonderfully creative environment. So sorry to hear about Sophie, really and truly. I will never forget how kind you were when my Mo passed, and I am sending much delayed, but very heartfelt hugs.

Congratulations on a brilliant interview! Loved it!
Can't believe the heat and bad weather Australia is getting now! Hope you are keping well.
Great shadow for the week!

Cool shot. Hope you didn't get hit by Yasi--I was wondering about that.

a fabulouse shot Tracy! all that blue sky and the lines of the canopy - really nice. take your time sorting through all that needs attention and then have a beautiful time mellowing out!

Great SSS! Hard to remember those "stinking hot days" while looking out the window at ice and snow, but I know they'll return to the northern hemisphere -- and I'll get tired of them too.

I hear ya about wanting better time management skills! Me too.

Nice shadow photo from China town. Real life does take over sometimes but blog visiting can be done when you have time.

Nice shot! :D

Fantastic, rich colours in that Chinatown shot! Love it!

And wow do I relate to your tight schedule! Now I am back at school, all that wonderful time I spent doing extra writing and photography over the school holidays has shrunk! I'm not so bad at time management, but still can't do it all!

Enjoy your weekend!

I know exactly how you feel Tracy, you are not alone. Have a good week, good luck getting things done. Nice shadow shot!

Love your shot. Very interesting color effect in that one.

"Real life" happens. Enjoy your week!

Christine said...

Very nice, color-intense shot, Tracy. As many of us here in the northern hemisphere are feeling right nowm I'd love to have just a bit of that heat!
Don't you just love MMT's Silly Shadow Ditty?
Lastly, do not think that it's a lack of time management on your part that you can't be everywhere all the time. I experience that constantly. Take all the time you need to re-group. We will all be waiting patiently and cheering you on.

Tracy, this is an Interesting shot and a very nice interview.
Thanks for hosting Shadow Shot Sunday. I think we all realize it is impossible to visit everyone each time. We all do the best we can. ;-)
My Shadow Shot Sunday is shadows in the snow, but I have another recent post for Chinese New Year. It's a bit whimsical, but stop by if you are interested.
Enjoy your Sunday. ~ Sarah

I am so looking forward to stinking hot. I hope you're making out OK with your weather!

P.S. love the shadows :-)

Great interview. Fully understand trying to fit everything in, there never seems to be enough time to do all the fun stuff! It's a huge job you do to visit everyone and comment and make lovely galleries as well. I don't think it's a time management issue, but just having too much to do.

I've never seen Brissie Chinatown so empty, it must have been a real stinker of a day.

Thank goodness it is cooler here today as we start getting some cyclonic tail enders.

Great to get the street without the people. Most Chinatowns are usually sooo crowded. I like the threatening shadows.

What a fun idea--shadows. I'm sure you get many, many creative and interesting shots submitted. Anxious to be a part of it. Thanks. Mickie

The mix of colors and patterns catch our eyes, the complexity of subjects a pleasure to view. The shadows are as varied as well. Happy (Chinese) New Year!

Thanks for everything!

Hi Tracy,

I REALLY enjoyed your interview with Steve. You did a great job, and it is nice to know more about you and your experiences. I have never heard of the photography technique that you practice; but I'm kind of a newbie.

God bless and take care,

Kathy

Totally LOVED the interview. And I really hear you about life being just too dang busy sometimes. Such a challenge. I did get a great new perspective on your photos which I've always liked anyway. Plus I learned that cotton candy is called fairy floss where you are! It is pink, though, isn't it? They do have blue and green now, but pink is the correct color as far as I am concerned.

It could be the heat. CNY was celebrated with a round table reunion on the Eve of Feb. 2. That mall must be bustling the week before with goodies and all. We have a week's non-working holiday till Feb. 7. Happy Chinese New Year!

Hi ya T, phew...that's was an interesting interview. It did give a little more infor about yourself hehe, and I enjoyed reading it a lot! Talk about being busy...I am so busy eating, enjoying Chinese New Year and before I knew it, one week has passed and I had to kick butt myself to work :( I have been so busy and mainly ...so lazy to even blog hop anyway. Just the past few days..these words had been playing non stop in my head.."I can live without my blog, I think, therefore, I am". It's horrible..while I missed my blog friends...I am really dragging my butt to do any post. With kids back to school, it seems like we are all back to our crazy life again, it never ends does it...Anyway, you have a good week ahead while I go back to my boring mundane work. Hugssssssssssssssss :)
