Shadow Shot Sunday


I missed posting a shadow shot last week due to all the New Year Hoo-Haa! Here's part of a paperbark tree (or Melaleuca quinquenervia if you want to be all fancy schmancy) and if you squint your eyes just so, you may see that it resembles a face. And if you squint your eyes just that little bit harder you may notice the 'eye' on the left (your left, not the paperbark tree-face left) has a shadow below it that looks like a bruise. As if the paperbark tree-face has a black eye. I didn't punch paperbark tree-face. I've bumped into countless trees in my lifetime but I've certainly never punched one & I never intend to. That would just be silly.

Oh and you can unsquint your eyes now...

The bark looks as if it is a page in a book, thin enough for as many pages as we need, bit strong enough to hold the prose together. a cool tree, with its eyebrow almost giving us a wink. A neat find as always!

So love this fun post! Here you have as all curling up our faces and squinting at a screen! If only I could take a group photo somehow! Love the colour tones in this photo! And the tree does seem to have a face, (a long one) and I think he missed a bit shaving this morning!

I saw that paperbark tree's black eye right away. Glad you weren't the bully that caused it. he he. Soooo, there was a hoo-haa going on in your neck of the woods on New Years huh? It was pretty quiet here at our place. Happy SSS and New Year too!

Saw it without having to squint!! We have a forest of those trees near the house I grew up in on Molokai. We know they are from Australia and I have always been enamored by them.

very funny! I must admit that each time I look at your picture I think I see a white horse gazing ahead lost deep in thought! I love the fact that your picture has inspired such conversation... You should frame it or create a necklace with the photo and you can always have a conversation starter!

Hey T! I am back to work and blog land. That blasted knee got better and I am finally walking and driving, avoiding stairs (very difficult..but try to..). I LOVE, LOVE all your food crafting posts..and this is what you should be doing, photographing and posting about stuff you like...not being chained to the PC doing SSS links all the time. I am hopeless in baking cookies, they either comes out hard or soft...hopeless in cakes too. Hope you'll have a great Dragon year this 2012, lots of good health and prosperity :)) Muah2

I LOVE all your new posts T!! I dont like grasshoppers at all, they destroy a lof of my flowers...and snails, they are like midnight landmowers, they come and suck/eat away many leaves. Danial and I go go snail hunting every night and they never seem to die :((
