Springy and Spooky

This is the last week of winter! Hooray! It’s starting to feel like spring already, which is making me very happy! I did a couple of Halloween inspired ACEOs to add to my shop, thinking it was Halloween on the 31st of August. I got a little muddled up with the dates and now realise it falls on the 31st of October. Perhaps my confusion is because Halloween isn’t celebrated here in Australia on the same scale as other countries. Actually, Halloween can come & go without many of us even being aware that it happened. I needed some new stuff in my shop anyways, so I’ve just listed six things, including these two...

Scary huh? That’s about as spooky as I get. Oh but wait…

If they sit side by side like so, they are much scarier don’t you think? No? Really? Oh I thought they looked a little spookier. Sigh. The fact that I’m now talking to myself is possibly spookier…

Due to my excitement about spring being just around the corner, I’m planning on having another giveaway on my blog in celebration of the warmer weather. I hope to have it next week but that may not happen because I’m not very organised, and I have no idea what the giveaway will be yet. If it’s not next week it will definitely be in September sometime. That much I can promise! See you in the shadows on Sunday!

Our #4 daughter was born on Halloween..Kept thinking she would be born on All Saints Day, November 1st..I use to tell her, instead of a saint, I was given a little witch..
Of course it was said in jest..she was a very good child, now 37..Anyway, love your pictures, they are adorable..Getting ready for SSS..nothing is safe when I have camera in hand. Looking for something to drag around and put in the sunlight..

Cute! Are these paintings that you do? They really do change when you put them side by side like that...and if you put your nose WAAY up close to the monitor, they meld into ONE! lol

BTW - I do loves me a good bargain! My overwhelming urge to save money justifies my time planning the good deals. heh heh. It's more like a game to me :)

Hey you! I can't believe you keep churning out all these creative versions of scooter girl! I know what you mean about Halloween. The spooky part doesn't mean anythingto us either except that 31/10 is also my husband's birthday! Was also our firstborn's due-date but Niklas was a Caeserean & had to pop out much earlier than 31st.

I'm sitting on the front steps waiting for spring too ... and for all this August yukkiness to leave!

Oh, I so can't wait for spring! I'm sick of being cold all the time!
I wiiiiiissssshhhhhh we celebrated Halloween here - it's always been my favourite 'holiday'. As a kid I was always so jealous of Americans. I have since been in the states for 2 Halloweens and they were both awesome.
Also, I love love love your new pieces <3

Hmmm...I'm actually jealous that you are moving into spring. I love spring & summer!! We are starting to feel like autumn here in South Dakota. I like the distinct seasons, but the cold is not my favorite.
How odd to heara about spring being right around the corner..fall and winter are coming here in a month or so! I love your spooky little creations too, they are absolutely adorable!

awesome that the ACEOs work both apart and together! I think there's some spooky aspect to it... it's sort of like a mirror, but not quite..

I keep forgetting you are in australia and it makes me have to stop and think for a minute.
Love those cute little horns.
Halloween is HUGE here in the South. in fact it rivals Christmas around here in how much people go all out.

hooray for spring! the sun's a lovely fellow, isn't he :)

your little devils are cute :) not terribly spooky, but i think they do very nicely for halloween. it must be a very american thing...they're the only ones celebrating around these parts too! (I'm in Singapore)

I always get confused when Halloween is too. And Thanksgiving. We don't celebrate either of them here!

Cutest little devil! with the exception of my little 18 month old girl. It's hard to believe little devils can look so sweet ;) I'm sure your ACEO's will be so popular in the US.

I remember the date of Halloween because it's my Grandmother's birthday. It kind of fits because an ancester of my Grandmother's was burnt at a steak for being a witch. All the women in my family are keen gardeners (with the exception of me) and love to grow herbs, so I'm sure my great, great, great, something grandmother was just a keen herbalist. A bit unfortunate really.

Sorry for my family history novel :-)

Love this crazy post! And it's that very craziness that makes it a fascinating read! So Halloween is now August eh? Well! I guess many places in the Blue Mountains NSW celebrate Christmas in July! And why not! It's just fun!

Very cool Halloween pics! I like the horns and the fact that you can place the pics side by side and they form another pic. Very cool!

Someone posted a photo of a place already exhibiting Halloween wares, so you're okay exhibiting yours. ;-)

I'm happy for you that you're getting the weather/season you like. Thankfully, here, summer is almost over. Yes! Goodbye hot, humid, horrid weather. I'm sooo looking forward to cooler, fall weather. *big smile*

Here in the States, decorating the outside of your house with lights and lawn decorations has almost become more popular for Halloween than it is for Christmas.
Its strange to think that its not a big deal elsewhere, but as I've learned in Cultural Anthropology, we Americans are very ethnocentric. We tend to think everyone does it our way and that our way is best.
