Shadow Shot Sunday #18

In 1981 the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution declaring an International Day of Peace. In 2001, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a new resolution declaring 21 September of each year as the International Day of Peace.

May Peace Prevail on Earth

Shadow Shot Sunday #18! Two Shadow Gallery collages this week featuring glorious shadowy goodness from the participants from last Sunday. Thanks again to the awesome shadow shooters for playing along! You all rock! If you’ve not joined in and would like to, it’s easy peasy. Simply shoot a shadow, post it on your blog on Sunday (don’t worry about the timezone difference, as you can post it on my Sunday, your Sunday, or a day that’s close to a Sunday), then add your link to Mr Linky and visit other participants. Have fun!

Here's my Shadow Shot Sunday #18

Peace, in the sense of the absence of war, is of little value to someone who is dying of hunger or cold. It will not remove the pain of torture inflicted on a prisoner of conscience. It does not comfort those who have lost their loved ones in floods caused by senseless deforestation in a neighbouring country. Peace can only last where human rights are respected, where the people are fed, and where individuals and nations are free – The Dalai Lama

"May Peace Prevail on Earth" I'm hoping in my lifetime. I hoping and praying for my grandson. And I'm doing both daily for my son.

Love how you titled the collages, great job on both T and great job from everyone that participated!

And your shadow shot! How creative and how appropriate!

The Dalai Lama ~ "human rights are respected". Wouldn't it be a perfect world then! :D

Happy International Peace Day to you T, and to everyone!

I looooooooove your pic! I didn't know about the international day of peace, either, that is so awesome. Thanks for the Dalai Lama quote too :)
Thanks for sharing, Harriet! Shortly before I moved to Arizona, my Pastor in San Diego had announced that he and a few others would be attending a ceremony in Israel for the International Day of Peace. It is so wonderful hear about it again on your blog. So does this mean it is working?? :-)

Hello T,
Collages are great as usual :D

Your SS is awesome, love the theme...bet you folded those paper cranes. Yes, we need all the peace available in this world..there are way too much suffering and unnecessary war everywhere. The saying from Dalai Lama says it all!! Tks for linking me up...hugs :D and have a great week ahead..

That is the most wonderful quote. And another wonderful selection of amazing shadow shots. They are always inspiring!

By the way, if you are interested, I have tagged you on my blog for the 'On my walls' meme, which I quite enjoyed doing, and thought you might too. But don't feel any pressure. I won't be at all offended if you'd rather not :)

Cheers, Bec

Hey Tracy! Found a WiFi and a few minutes so I thought I'd check out some of the Shadow Shots.

International Peace Day is one of the few holidays that seem to go unnoticed in this country...go figure. I'm glad you've brought it to everyones attention! You're awesome!

The Dalai Lama sure knows how to hit the nail on the head doesn't he?! Gotta love the Dalai Lama!!

Love your Shadow Shot...and your origami! Did you make those you talented girl?!

Beautiful collages...as always!!!

I echo your sentiment....May Peace Prevail on Earth
