Here's my Shadow Shot(s) Sunday #69

These photos were taken during a visit to Raven Street Reserve, a nice urban bushland area in Chermside. The first pic I took while trekking along one of the bush walking trails. The following shadows were found at the children's playground. It was my lucky day because there were no kiddies around so I had the play area all to myself! I managed to climb all the way to the top of that spiral thingie too. (It was all of 1.5 metres high...)

I had the fortunate pleasure of being interviewed for a photography feature called Art Through the Lens on IndiePublic, as part of their monthy She Dreams of Art series. I was even more fortunate to be featured alongside a couple of my favourite POE team members! Click here to read our interviews. Thanks Jes! xox

Also I finally jumped onto the Twitter bandwagon the other day. I've been reluctant to join Twitter because I really didn't want to devote more time to online activities, but it's actually quite nifty. I've discovered it's a great way to share little snippets of info when I don't have time to blog. A tweet only takes a few seconds. I do like that! Anyway, my tweets can be found here if anybody is remotely interested in following them.

Happy Sunday!

It has been awhile since I commented on your shadow collages, so I'll do that first before I forget! They're just wonderful! Your arrangement always highlights each one and they balance well within the art of the collage! Great job!

And your twisting, turning shadows this week are wonderful! Almost like snake shadows at times!

Happy SSS!

I like your playground shadow series! It sounds like you had fun climbing spirals in search of shadows! The last photo was making me a bit dizzy until I read it was only 1.5 meters high ;)

Congrats on the feature! I loved reading your interview. It was very cute!

Twitter eh? I'm hopeless at keeping up with blogging so maybe twitter would be more my style. I will give it some thought. I enjoyed your tweets. Happy Sunday to you!

She's on Twitter--yea! Fun to see you Tweeting and posting here too, Tracy :o) I love the great variety of shadow shots this week...I keep scrolling up and down to look at everything over again... Everyone's so clever with a camera! Happy weekend, my friend ((HUGS))

beautiful mystifying shadow shots this week and thanks as always for the wonderful collages...share the same ambivalence about twitter!!
Once again, you have a stellar line of shadows that you posted from the Reserve. And, I think my favorites from the collage of last weeks are the giraffes and the monarch butterfly.
Good job, everyone!

These are lovely soft shadow shots with very interesting shpaes. Congrats on the interview! I was on Twitter for about a week but came off it again as I could not be bothered. I felt like I was writing things for the sake of it. I quite enjoy looking at other people's though at times! I am on facebook but hate it and was on myspace but deleted my account a few days ago. Blogging is the one I love!
Have a lovely weekend!

Congratulations on your interviews, Tracy! How exciting! And a day on a playground alone...wow...love all the SSs you captured with their fascinating designs! Thanks for including my SS of Al and the ARCH in this week's college. :) Have a great weekend!

I see these as two pairs of shots, the first two showing shadows that express ambiance of place, and the last two linked, yet not linked, by the spiral shapes both actual and shadowy. Interesting shots.

What fun it is to revisit childhood and play with children's toys. I can't resist a swing or a carousel. Lovely shadow shots!

Congrats Tracy on the great interview and the continued success of your TtV photos! I really look forward to seeing what you come up with next, and i agree the mix of old and new is very intriguing! How cool that you have such a collection of cameras!

As for Twitter, I haven't joined yet, but plan to in a few weeks, so I can keep in touch with my daughter when she goes overseas. I'll look for you!
Hi Tracy,
the collages look great (as usual), I love that they seem to all tell a story...thanks for your continued hard work showcasing US!

Happy Sunday Tracy!! I love your photos - that looks like a gorgeous national park you're in - is that right? Even though you're up in Brisy - the light is very similar to Sydney Spring light at the moment. Gorgeous! I love the top set especially. ...and I see Gabbi's lacey tree shot - such a wonderful thing you have going here sweetie!! Have a lovely weekend!! XX

It is good to be a kid for a day...I love the circle of stones, similar to the one I have in my yard, a Native American Medicine Wheel, my church of choice.

Congrats on the interviews...we love our arts don't we!!!

Have a great week Tracy and thanks again...
Lovely collages. Cool SSs. The first one somehow looks a little spooky to me. I like the last spiral thingy. I would have like to see the photo of you perched atop it....somehow I think that would have been amusing;)
I see you've been twittering like mad!

Tracy -- what great shots! The first one is my fav -- I think it looks like it deserves a musical soundtrack...
:-) Wonderful article in She Dreams of Art, too.
Thank you for doing the shadow collages every week.

Yup ... luv your mosaics and your shadow shots this week on my second visit as much as on my first. I've played a second time this week (this time at Small Reflections) sharing the growing relationship between Molly and Aloha playing together in the sunshine creating nifty shadows ;--)

Congrats, Harriet! You deserve it! Nice shadows! Happy SSS! :)
Looks like you had a lot of fun in that playground!...Sorry, no tweets here...can't possibly do it all...although I really, really try! LOL!
Sorry I'm late. I love your shadows very much. The sinuousness of the shadow lines are very striking. And congrats on the interview. I'll have to check out this twitter thing. I too am very reluctant to spend even more time online. Let us know how that works out.

Your shadows are quite spooky looking this week. I them them! I've been absent from SSS lately but hope to join in again this coming Sunday.

I don't have Twitter but will check out your 'tweets' and your interview right now!
Back again! Now I'm wanting to join Twitter so I can keep up with you're up to. I just discovered there that you blog elsewhere as well! A cool little blog! And congrats on your interview! It was a wonderful read and it sounds like you have a drool-worthy camera collection! And you formed crushes at a young age! ;D

I forgot to post mine by the cutoff. I didn't even turn on the computer yesterday!

I really like your shadow shots this week. Playground equipment makes terrific shadows, which you captured wonderfully. And the shadows of the tree limbs on the stones is elegant. It reminds me of some sort of natural sundial!

Congrats on your interview for "Art Through the Lens."

Hi T, you've got some very nice shadows last week..the 2nd shadow reminded me of ET's hands hehe :P So, you finally jump on the twittering bandwagon..good for you, I'll follow you if I do it...for now, blogging is OK..but who knows in the future. I must admit that twitter is so easy, no pain at all..unlike preparing for blog post at times. Like now, I've got tons of pictures in the mobile phone but I spent the whole day figuring how to download them into blogger..unsuccessfully :(

You have a good week and the next too, I'll be on a long break after this :P

Hugs............M

Amazing shadow shots! Now that I'm officially a shadow hunter :) I realize what a difficult task finding pretty shadows can be. My other favorite of this week is Bexy's nesting dolls. Besides a lovely photograph I adore her dolls. I want!

Wishing you a lovely weekend!
