Here's my Shadow Shot Sunday #75


One of my favourite weeds! I've been on a crazy TtV dandelion shootin' photo frenzy lately. This is one of a gazillion dandelion photos I've taken over the last few days and it's the only one to feature any shadows.

Here's my Shadow Shot Sunday #74


A TtV (thought the viewfinder) shadow shot this week of some big bus shadows pulling into the Cultural Centre Busway. I took this photo on my way home from celebrating a birthday lunch with some friends at West End on Thursday. And later today I'll be enjoying the last slice of the most awesome lime pie a lovely work friend baked for me. Having friends who are amazing cooks sure makes for a very happy birthday!

It was World Toy Camera Day on the 17th of October. Which was yesterday. For me anyway. In other parts of the world the 17th of October is still happening today at the time of publishing this post. I think.


I took my Diana out for a play this week but couldn't get the film processed in time to participate in WTCD. Hopefully I'll be more organised next year. Visit the WTCD Flickr Group for lots of low fidelity goodness!

Here's my Shadow Shot(s) Sunday #73



Early this week I walked across the newly opened Kurilpa Bridge and found these shadows floating below in the Brisbane River. I decided to display the photos in b&w so it's not so obvious how dirty the river looks.


Here's a photo of a section of the Kurilpa Bridge. This is a $63 million pedestrian and bicycle bridge connecting South Brisbane to the City, and while the design of it doesn't appeal to me the convenience of it does. Love it or hate it, it is certainly an eye catching structure. It was interesting to read the other day that the Queensland Art Gallery director Tony Elwood says it is a work of art. That's very fortunate for Tony that he feels that way about it because one of the best views of the bridge can be seen from the art gallery.

Here's my Shadow Shot(s) Sunday #72


I've walked past this fancy building along Ann Street in Fortitude Valley countless times but it was only this week after stepping out from the pub directly opposite that I really noticed all of those intricate shadows.
And yes, the pub lunch was very nice. The Royal George World's Best Pub Lunch Only $6 deal is a goodie!


Behind that waterfall window I could see a desk and a computer. Couldn't see anybody sitting at the desk. Maybe they were also on their lunch break. I've no idea what kind of business this fancy building houses.


Nothing quite sums up spring like gigantic strawberry icecreams! These treats were decorating the grounds of a mini carnival set up in Southbank's Cultural Forecourt as part of the 3 week long Brisbane Festival 2009 celebrations. The popular annual festival ended yesterday. Phooey. It sure was fun while it lasted!

I've noticed quite a few new people joining in SSS over the last month, so a big thanks to the newbies for playing along! And of course many thanks to the regular bunch of sweet shadow shooters who have been keeping this little shadowy thing chuggin' along in such a fun way for so long! As some of you are aware I try to include different participants in the collages each week. I have a crazy little system that sometimes works. And sometimes not. I'm sure I often muddle it up, so if you find that I haven't included one of your photos for a while and you'd like me to, please just let me know. Keep shootin' those glorious shadows! xox
