Shadow Shot Sunday #13

My shadow shot this week is a Bubble Babble inspired kind of shot. Sandra had written a most wonderful post recently about her passion for black & white photography, which featured jaw-dropping images from some of her favourite photographers. Thanks for another insightful & inspirational post Sandra! The two Shadow Gallery collages this week feature one photo from each participant from last Sunday. If you’d like to participate in SSS, shoot a shadow, post it on your blog on Sunday (or near enough to Sunday), add your link to Mr Linky, and visit other players. Have fun!

Here's my Shadow Shot Sunday #13

I received this Tree of Happiness award from the lovely Gina of the fabulous Gingerbread blog last week. Thanks ever so much Gina!

I've no idea what this award says, but I do know that I'm required to list six things that are currently making me happy...

1) My dog Sophie greeting me with such enthusiasm when I arrive home from work. She’s always so excited to see me that she almost does cartwheels. This always makes me happy, especially if it has been a sucky sort of day at work. That kind of unconditional love never ceases to amaze me. Sometimes I don’t feel worthy of such adoration…but I’ll take what I can get…
2) Only 14 more days until the arrival of spring!
3) Only 14 more days left until the death of winter!
4) As much as I loath winter I do love winter food. It makes me happy eating homemade soups (the BEST soup recipe EVER can be found here), and yummy puddings!
5) It makes me happy that I’m able to indulge in puddings galore without piling on the weight. Phew! Lucky genes I guess. A contributing factor could also be that I walk an average of three hours a day.
6) Receiving cool Etsy parcels in the mail this week from these sweet & talented folk, Jellygnite and Beckybean made me happy.

Oh that’s it? I was just getting into the swing of this happy stuff. The rules state to list 6 things only, so it appears I’m done. I can now get back to being my usual crabby self again.

I’m passing this award along to all SSS participants, past and present players, because you guys make me happy too! As happy as a piggy in pudding! Happy Sunday! Oink! Oink!

Your shadow shot just blew me away Harriet! Wow. I think you have a passion for black and white also! Thanks for the mention, you are very sweet!

Good job with the collages as always, congratulations on your award, you're always so generous passing your awards to the SSS participants!

Loved reading about what makes you happy, really loved # 1 as I'm sure anyone with a "friend" will agree!

And #4, I love winter food also, so of my best recipes are from this season. That soup looks delicious!

#5, just wait till you hit my age. lol

#6, love receiving that type of mail, especially from someone as talented as they are!

I'm glad your winter is almost over and spring is right around the corner. Now maybe you can retire your beanies! lol

And I use too many explanation points, don’t I? :)
Cool shot! Love the black and white:) Very nice collages...love the pet theme!
Congrats on your award!! And thanks for the yummy sounding pumpkin soup receipe...looks like I'll be needing it soon on this side of the planet soon. I was trying not to think about how close fall is comming;(

Really love your shadow shot! Is that shadow on sand or weirdly shaped sandstone rock? Whatever it is, the shadow effect is quite intriguing!

Thank you so much for your early morning visit to my blog! And your lovely comments!

Re my blog loading, I have asked a few if they have any probs. (I don't at all! The only probs I had were some months ago, so I reduced the number of postings on the main page and that fixed it!)

Someone told me that some computers don't like too much javascript! I have javascript in widgets on my sidebar! I reduced these before you arrived, hoping you would say all OK today! But it failed obviously!

So now I have eliminated another couple of widgets this morning. Hope that helps you!

I can't explain the comment box prob you have!

Once again I apologise most profusely! I don't know why this is your experience!

It is doubly weird because it loads for me in a couple of seconds!

If anyone has a suggestion to help, I would appreciate it!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Tracy, the collages we so look forward to seeing are put together with perfection!! In particular the 4 legged friends :0) And an interesting shot from you this week, very mystical looking, have you been stalking the neighbours on the way to work again or is this a little closer to home? Your 6 happy things are definately things to be happy about and i must say i am very envious of your being able to eat whatever you like, some people have all the luck!! Congratulations on your award and thank you for passing it on. I was thrilled to receive a yellow envelope on Friday afternoon and even more thrilled about what was inside - THANKYOU!! More about that tomorrow ;0)Have a great sunday and hope it is a warm sunny one down your way. Annette x

What a mysterious photo, such cool contrasts, is it fabric or is it stone...is it inside or is it out. Anyway, I love it!

For those wondering what my shadow shot is, it's a big rock sitting in front of a fenced-off water area. No stalking involved this week for my shot ;)

Greyscale Territory - Hey Gemma I think you're right about my computer not liking javascript. No need for you to apologise though! Sorry for all the bother & I hope you're not deleting things from your blog on my account. I'll go pop in now & see how I go, but thought I'd leave a little message here in case I couldn't on your blog :) xo

Harriet...

The Tree of Happiness Award

"You have just received the tree of happiness. It is scarcely a small plant, which depends on you to grow firmly and strongly. Plant it on your heart, water it with smiles and kindness, feel the aroma of its flowers, savour the sweetness of its fruits and protection under its shade whom you love."
Hey Harriet said…
Thanks for that info Sandra! I'm not sure I like the part that says "which depends on you to grow..." Aaaarrrgh! I'm a hopeless gardener & I'll surely kill the little happy tree! I'll start preparing for the bad karma that will be heading my way... ;)xo
Oh but come on! Stalking makes it more exciting! LOL

This is a really beautiful shot.

Lovely shadow shot!

Ah, spring is one of my favorite seasons too. I am lucky to be approaching fall here (my other favorite.) How do you manage to walk 3 hours a day?

Hello T
wonderful SSS from you...am still tryng to figure out what it is..
I posted the SSS on Friday, prepared the post on Wednesday so when I got it published, it still carries the date it was prepared. I'll hv to do the SSS every Friday, my modem's out in the house and wont be bloggy-hopping on the weekend anymore yay or nay? I think the entire family spent way too much time on the PC, so we are not rectifying the problem..trying to have more so called 'family time' hehehe..Ah..Sandra's tip is absolutely fabulous, check out your new page element and add the 'new gadget'! I now cut down my blog-hopping time by at least 70%. Ciao for now :D...ps. great collages

Your shot really is full of mystery - I thought it was a sand castle of days gone by :) The black and white really makes it look fantastic!

Thanks for putting together the collages each week. I always look forward to seeing them.
Wow! I LOVE coming here!
The way you grouped the furry friends together created such a great experience!! Each shot by itself is so amazing - put um all together and it's a lovely work of art!
I also love your black and white stone! Simple..yet not!
Smiles,
Lorie

This has got to be the BEST blog ever. What a creative idea. I can see why it's so popular.
