Here's my Shadow Shot Sunday #173

This sweet shadow was cast from one of the many interesting pieces in the Land, Sea and Sky: Contemporary Art of the Torres Strait Islands exhibition currently on at the Gallery of Modern Art. I also popped along to the much anticipated Henri Cartier-Bresson exhibition on Saturday and was awestruck. I can certainly see why he is regarded as one of the master photographers!

Happy Sunday!

Gosh! It looks like a bird! How lovely is that? I've seen some really gorgeous Aboriginal art lately in our own gallery down here and I think I'm having a bit of an epiphany about it - it's just so gorgeous and ...spooky at times too.

I hope you don't mind my Shadow Shot this week - it's a 9/11 Shadow shot because I just felt compelled to say something about that dreadful event ten years ago. But it is still a shadow shot too!

Hope you're well and having a terrific weekend! XO

Oh, I would have loved to have gone to that exhibition!

Love your shadow shot -- as always, Tracy! This one today reminds me of a peacock with its tail feathers spread! Hope your weekend is going well! Enjoy!

I love the symmetry in your photo, Harriet. Thanks for featuring my photo from last week.

My post this week does not have a physical shadow in it. But it does have another type of shadow...

That's a beautiful shadow shot!
Is it normally ok to take pics in museums over there?
In Finland most of them do not allow you to shoot pics...

I'll vanish for a couple of weeks :) I'll change my blog host plus I travel to San Francisco, U.S. at the end of the month but I'll be back to SSS in October!

Happy end of September!

that is really cool! & so is the interesting shadow it casts.
thanks for hosting this meme Tracy & I hope you have a great week ahead of you.

Hello there Tracy girl ! hey thanks for including me in the collage : )
I thought the shadow looked like a type of Inuit or Native American painting of a war bird .. isn't it funny what pops into heads with the first impression from something? It can be amazing how differently we perceive an image !
Hope the weather is warming up for you now .. I can't wait for ours to cool down .. "polar opposites" eh ;-)

This shadow art is fascinating! There is a sense of a bird in flight ...suggesting a physical perspective...but there is also a sense of spiritual and cultural symbolism. The base of falling features contrasts with the uplight of winged shapes! And what an intriguing shadow it casts!

Happy weekend!

That is a very awesome photograph and shadow. I wish I could see the entire piece as well as the entire display!
I've been away a few weeks, glad to back and join in this weekend. Hope all is good with you.

Thanks for your comment on my blog sweetie! It made me cry!

I cannot be certain of just what I am seeing - the shadow and subject make two, of what I cannot say. But a whimsical view of true art!

Fascinating SSS, Tracy. Love seeing through your eyes exhibitions that don't come to Perth. Thanks.
That Bresson knew what he was doing, all right. I used to be in such awe of his work that I thought why bother even trying to take photos? Thank goodness I realized you can do other things and it's still worthwhile. That's what comes from growing up in New York City. There's a lot of that there, the feeling that others are so far beyond you that you should just forget about doing anything. Or at least there was in the dark ages when I grew up.

Oh, I love the shadow that it casts! Great shot. And I'm so jealous that you got to see Henri Cartier-Bresson's photos in person! The man was so talented.

I can't make out what the art object is, but that shadow looks like a wonderful Inuit bird sculpture. Wonderful.

Tracy, I read your comment on Sam's blog and just wanted to tell you what a profound 9/11 story that was.
Very unusual and beautiful.

I also am uncertain of the art object you photographed but it did cast an interesting shadow!

I almost didn't make it this week. I'm number 79. Ralph is way at the beginning! I must get organized.

Thanks as ever for hosting.
