A couple of things I love

This post isn’t the one I had intended to do today. It’s a quick substitute for the one that didn’t happen because plans got all messed up. As they sometimes do. So rather than venting my frustration and annoyance here, I thought I’d post something positive. A couple of photos of things I love. And may I say that the cup of coffee below tasted every bit as good as it looked. Oh the magical powers of coffee! Good coffee makes everything better! And good coffee is what The Three Monkeys café delivers every visit.

Sadly, my two loves are very incompatible…

“Is it possible to get a cup of coffee-flavoured coffee anymore? What happened with coffee? Did I miss a meeting? They have every other flavour but coffee-flavoured coffee. They have mochaccino, frappaccino, cappuccino, al pacino…Coffee doesn’t need a menu, it needs a cup.” - Denis Leary

Coffee and Sleep! Two of my favorites also! Yes, if only they could get along, we would all be so much happier. Coffee seduces me during the day, and sleep punishes me with her deprivation at night. Sigh.

Love the quote, too, (he's a funny guy!) I am a straight up kind of coffee gal. I'd rather have it bitter and black then all fancied up with false flavors.

Hope what ever got messed up, works itself out!

Two of my favorites things, too.

Fantastic quote!

Those two must be everyone's favorite things. lol. I know I am obsessed with both!

That coffee has a heart shape swirl! And, I love that sleep sign. Great pics and a great post.
Oh I love you!!! I knew we had a lot in common :-D And coffee-flavored coffee...I adore you! I prefer a good cup of hot "joe" instead of caramel-macchiato-brain twirling-espresso. HAH! Just some coffee-flavored coffee, please :-D

We share the very same loves Harriet! That cup of coffee looks divine. Great name for a cafe. Do you work at the 3 Monkeys? Love the Denis Leary quote!

Harriet, I ALWAYS want my coffee sans flavor just coffee-flavor! And thanks for quoting my favorite comedian, Denis Leary! :)

Well, I did used to be an exclusively tea-drinking type, but over the last 6 months I have found myself being drawn more and more towards the 'coffee' side of town. Mainly because Matt makes such sensational coffee, and it's hard to say no when you hear the hum of the espresso machine and the aroma of good fresh ground coffee....so now I think I may have a bit of habit. If I don't get my half strength soy latte every day I get a bit...well...antsy....

I know. I'm hardcore. What can I say :P

I positively love these two too! It is true that it gets harder to find just a cup of good old regular coffee, which is what I like most.

I'm not a coffee drinker but... that looks very pretty. I might just close my eyes and pretend its hot chocolate for a minute and enjoy a sip! I also adore sleep. Along with sleep I adore my bed. I have a very comfy bed with down galore. My husband slept on a matress with no sheets, wrapped up in his comforter like a cocoon when I met him. My first trip away without him he called and begged me to come home days early. He said that no one was there to fluff his pillow. Oh how quickly the savage adapts. Sleep. A marvelous thing. Try hot chocolate next time you'd like to mix the two!

Hey T, I love both of them too but it's a problem. If I drink coffee, I can't sleep well :( I try to avoid coffee for a long time but somehow find myself drinking more and more everyday. When I drink the first cup..i couldnt sleep, and then I need another the next day to keep me awake..and another. It's a vicious cycle argghh :( ..but I still love it unfortunately!! Enjoy both :P

Scooter & Jinx,

No, I don't work at The Three Monkeys :)

Love the atmosphere of the three monkeys...we don't have enough coffee shops that in old and interesting buildings...most are so slick and full of stainless steel and glass...and coffee...it's one of the pleasures of life...just make sure you have it first thing in the morning..

I don't even like coffee but I love your photo. Now sleep I love! ha,ha

Thanks for your comments on my blog - I don't know why I was so surprised to learn you don't have squirrels or cardinals! They are in such abundance here it just makes you think they are everywhere.

I also tagged you on my blog for the random comments game. If you have time.

Hope you have a great day!
I enjoy a really good cup of coffee.
You know, it doesn't taste the way it use to..I only buy organic now and it is better, but not like I remembered it..My girls say the same thing, so it isn't just me..
The picture of that cup of coffee, really looked wonderful.
Funny how it does mess the sleep process..

Coffee is good too but I cannot have too much of it as of lately. It upsets my stomache.

Great quotes! And terrific photos!
Un/fortunately, I am such a caffeine addict that I can actually have a cup of coffee before bed and remain unscathed by the caffeine. It's a strange but true phenomenon.

Yum, The Three Monkeys was a bit of a haunt during my uni days. Have to say I missed a few lectures hanging out at the three monkeys playing cards and chatting.

Coffee & sleep=INCOMPATIBLE indeed!

I need coffee to make me awake & just to let you know I have an insomnia so, w/out my sleeping pills my eyes are wide open the whole night. Same as last night, w/ my migraine?

But, am loving ém too.

Hugs on Friday!

Am I the only person in the world who can sleep at the drop of a hat after a very strong coffee? It's really embarrassing when you're not in bed!

Wouldn't that coffee go well with a Spangled Hamburger?

I knew I liked you for a reason....we're soul sisters! I'm not big on coffee but an XL Diet Coke from McDonalds is how I get my day kicked off after my last little monkey runs off to school. And sleep, well......I need it, I love it, I wait all day for it!!!!

Oh yeah, the coffee flavored coffee, except when eggnog is in season. Gotta have some dairy in it though - a latte or 1/2 and 1/2.

Sleep? eh, who needs it! ;o) I'm a night owl AND a morning person, two more incompatible things. It's a complicated world.

Isn't that always the way! I don't think we have any coffe shops that create art with the half-n-half. I love seeing it.

Coffee! Great pic to start me craving it:)

That coffee sure does look good..on first glimpse..I thought you meant coffee and art as your 2 things! (I know that's not far off lol)
