Shadow Shot Sunday #40
Howdy! The Shadow Gallery collages feature one photo from each participant from last Sunday. If you’d like to join in SSS, please do. How? Shoot a shadow, post it on your blog on Sunday (or close to Sunday), then add your link to Mr Linky, and visit other players. First-time participants are required to click here for a little further info before submitting your link. Thanks heaps and I hope you enjoy all the shadows!

Here's my Shadow Shot Sunday #40
I spotted these shadows as soon as I entered the gallery space at the Museum of Brisbane and I ran towards them, fumbling in my backpack along the way for my camera. In hindsight, I didn’t need to run. The exhibition is on until the 8th of June. I was just super excited by these shadows. The creator of the sculptures is Matt Dabrowski, and he is one of twenty-two artists featuring in the Temperature 2: New Queensland Art exhibition at MoB. Here’s a little info about Matt’s sculptures if you’re interested:
Celebrating social and artistic freedom. Matt regards skateboarding as a healthy dose of vitality in our carefully controlled environments. These sculptures represent his resistance to official and corporate control of the appearance and functioning of the city. Matt uses skateboards to represent individual freedom of spirit. Pierced by arrows, they resemble hunting trophies or tribal artefacts. Because of the ideas they represent, his skateboards are literally targets. The arrows used here were fletched (feathered) with the advice of Cliff Turpin, a weapons advisor to the Lord of the Rings film trilogy.
I've recently been tagged with the random photo folder thingie by Gina from Gingerbread and Terri from Ways I See The World. I'm going to cheat here. What a surprise eh? I decided it would be nicer instead to post two more shadow photos. These shots are from participants from last week that didn't add their links in time to Mr Linky, so missed out on being included in the collages. Hope you don't mind Gina and Terri!

Happy Sunday!

Love your museum shot and yes there is a reason to rush.....the perfect shadow disappears with the speed of light!
Have a great day!! ~ Cindy
Have a great Sunday girl, as always!
sharon
I'm glad you shared the two great ones who were late last week. Isn't the heart shaped lens shadow wonderful!
Your shadow shot is beautiful, it took me by surprise that it was skateboards! Arrows, advice from a weapons advisor to the Lord of the Rings film trilogy...very cool. And the Shadow Gallery, impressive, as always! :)
Happy Sunday to you! xo
Cool art and shadow shot! I didn't know what it was at first. More great collages too.
The ones that came in late are really neat too. I llove the bug and the sunglasses with heart is very creative. Hope clearview and stuff make it in on time this week...we love to see what they come up with next.
My SS will be along later this afternoon...am suppose to be cleaning house now....
And your collages are definitely an artwork in their own right! Wonderful tapestry of shadows!
have a great sunday!
AM fascinating of all the shadows w/ all the participants. I love your shadow so much! You always captured the best shot, a man can get! Hmmm... it's seldom that we can take pix inside the museum in Scandinavia.
Cheers & hugs!
Paz
Thanks for sharing those two shadows that didn't get on last week....love them, especially that heart - in pink of course....perfect for last weekend!
The sepia was a wonderful effect as well.
My son was a skateboarder when he was young. At the time he would have LOVED one of these in his room.
Thanks for being such a gracious hostess.
Thanks for all your work on this challenge.
thanks once again for your beautiful collages as well as this very fun meme. Happy day to you!
We are travelling and I have major jet lag!
All best wishes and love.
Your shadows are great and the art is beautiful! Mine is posted. Have a great day!!
Sherrie
These are beautiful!
and Mr Linky affords me the opportunity to 'blog stroll' to other interestingly fantastic blogs.
Thanx for the meme:-)
P.S.::thanx again for the blog {luv}
When I first saw the skateboard shot I couldn't think of anything to say. It's spectacular.
I want to thank you for doing the collages, too. Having very little time to play online, I really appreciate being able to see everyone's entries at a glance, and to click through for a closer look and comment on those that catch my eye. You do a super job with this meme.
Hugs and blessings,
Great job on this week's picture!
You had more than one arrow to pull you straight and quickly to the mark and you caught their shadows beautifully!
Lovely composition too with the shadow gallery collage!
As the American author, entertainer, Garrison Keilor often says, "Happy to be here!"
Thanks for the fabulous collages!
The heart shaped reflection through the glasses is the best!
